AL KHUBAR - HARBOUR TUG

Built in 1976, these colourful tugs were in service in the Middle East and the United Kingdom. AL KHUBAR 1 was black, AL KHUBAR 2 was red and 3 was blue. Specifications of the full-sized vessels: length 24m, with a beam of 7.42m and a draght of 2.89m, powered by two six cylinder diesel engines through Kort nozzles and four bladed propellers.

The large number of perspective assembly drawings and full-size plan make AlKhubar a fairly simple project for the average modelling skills. With twin propellers and Kort nozzles, the model is highly manoeuvrable and idel for R/C steering and tug towing competitions.

Kit includes: a fibre glass hull, pre-cut and printed styrene sheets for deck and superstructure, metal fittings, propeller shaft and tubes, propellers, rudders; full-size drawings and assembly instructions.
Specifications: Scale 1:32, Length 785mm

Required for Operation: 2 or 4 channel radio control system in conjunction with one servo for steering, and electronic speed conrollers; 2 X geared 550-sized motors (and couplings) running on one 6V 12Ah Lead Acid battery or two 6V 10Ah batteries.
