Welcome to the Centre for Planetary and Space Studies.
The CPSS an Outreach and Education initiative of the Western Australian branch of the Mars Society Australia, Inc in partnership at various times with Trinity College, East Perth, St Joseph's School, Northam and this year (2009) in association with the University of Western Australia's Computational Mechanics Discipline Group School of Civil and Resource Engineering.
Our Objectives:
- To contribute a unique enhancement to the science and technology education program at Secondary School level.
- To found Australia's first research institute within or associated with a secondary school
- To forge better links between community and school science groups through a common interest in space and space exploration
- To develop a practical and educational centre for astronomy, astronautics and space simulation available to all students, scientists and the general public.
Our Mission Statement:
"To inspire a new resolve to explore the frontier of space, and to foster scientific and technical capabilities supporting the peaceful exploration of the solar system and the worlds beyond."
