TSEKOA II BOUY MAINTENANCE VESSEL ( * * )
The TSEKOA II was built in 1985 by Allied Shipbuilders Ltd. of Vancouver, Canada to a design of Robert Allen Ltd., also of Vancouver. The Tsekoa II was built for the Public Works of Canada for use in maintenance, construction and repair of bouts, docks and other marine structures in the numerous small harbours along the British Columbia Pacific coastline.
The Tsekoa II was designed to replace an older wooden workboat, the "Tsekoa". She has an overall length of 87ft 6in. and a beam of 23ft 9in., a complement of 7 persons, a cruising speed of 12 knots; the fuel capacity is 36,200 litres, the fresh water capacity is 13,200 litres and total deadweight is 65 tons.
The kit of the Tsekoa II is suitable for the average modeller and the model benefits greatly from added paraphernalia such as bouys, chains and ropes on the deck. With twin screws, it is very stable and extremely manoeuverable. A good steering regatta boat.
